CURSORY : University of Ibadan takes law student under Investigation for allegedly assaulting a first year student


A Law student at the University of Ibadan has been accused of sexually assaulting his colleague.
The victim apparently sustained injury on her neck and other body parts, and the 200-level student (suspect) has been detained.
The University of Ibadan (UI) administration took harsh action after learning that a 200-level law student had allegedly attacked a 100-level course mate on campus.
The student who had committed the offense on his colleague, a first year student, was caught and reported to the administrators of the university.
How the student reportedly attacked his colleague, a freshmen
The victim, a first-year student, was reading with other students in preparation for an exam when the incident happened.
She moved to the Students’ Union building to take a nap after the lecture hall’s electricity went out, and that was where the alleged assault happened, according to The Guardian newspaper.
As she described her ordeal, the victim mentioned that she had wounds on her neck, lip (from a bite) and private area.
According to Leadership, the incident was confirmed, and the institution’s public relations officer Joke Akinpelu stated that investigations had started
“The veracity of the allegation will be known upon completion of the investigation,” she added.
