ABSU Has Denied Allegations of Deliberately Delaying Law School Mobilization.

The attention of Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU) has been drawn to an article captioned “STRANDED ABSU law students cry out after four years(sic)“; published in the Daily Post online newspaper of 4th December, 2025.
The distorted information contained therein has necessitated this rebuttal.
The fact remains that the issue of backlog is a national issue and is not peculiar to ABSU.
Admission into the Nigerian Law School is competitive and based on merit, and as such prospective candidates with relatively high CGPAs are sent to the Law School before others because of limited space which reflects the quota.
The present University administration inherited a backlog of students who are yet to go to Law School and has been resolute in solving this problem. This, it does by ensuring that a certain percentage of candidates in each set is sent to Law School although with a little preference given to the set whose turn it is to be sent to Law School.
The figure of the existing backlog quoted by the author is bloated, while the allegation that there is a fresh plan by ABSU to compile only the names of the 2025 graduating set is false.
Prudent journalism entailes gathering accurate and verified information before publication.
However, the Governing authorities of Abia State University Uturu is working assidously to clear this inherited backlog of law graduates yet to be mobilized for law school as soon as possible.
Parents, Guardians and our Students are advised to exercise patience and be properly guided.
