ABSU Rejects Claims of Lecturer Extortion as False and Malicious

The management of Abia State University, ABSU has rejected claimed of Lecturer Extortion as False and Malicious.

Following a misleading and wide publication on social media, alleging extortion of students of Abia state university by lecturers, we wish to categorically state that these allegations are false and propagated to damage the soaring positive image and good works in the institution under the Governor Abia state, and Visitor to the university.

It is malicious for anyone to make sweeping accusations against the entire institution and its lecturers without a specific example, or actionable information that will help the efforts of management to apprehend perpetrators of such alleged misconduct.

We strongly urge all media platforms to desist from spreading unverified information capable of attracting legal action from the university but uphold the ethics of responsible journalism at all times.

Abia State University management maintains its policy of zero tolerance to any form of exploitation or misconduct, while remaining committed to academic excellence, integrity, and the welfare of its students.
