ABU Zaria Grants Amnesty for Overstayed Students to Complete Degrees.

At its 550th (Regular) meeting held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, the Senate of Ahmadu Bello University graciously considered a memo from the Senate Standing Committee on amnesty for overstayed students and resolved as follows:

a) Students whose residencies expired during the 2021/2022 and 2023/2024 Academic Sessions but have outstanding courses to graduate could register for the pending courses;

b) The affected students are required to register for the pending courses during the Second Semester of 2024/2025 and the First Semester of 2025/2026 to remedy the outstanding courses.

The affected students and faculties are requested to take necessary action to implement this resolution, please.

“Ahmadu Bello University is giving students who stayed in school longer than allowed (during the 2021/2022 and 2023/2024 academic years) a chance to finish their remaining courses and graduate. These students can register for their unfinished courses in the Second Semester of 2024/2025 or the First Semester of 2025/2026. The university is asking these students and their faculties to take action to follow this decision.”
