Bandits Raid Abuja Government School, Abduct Vice-Principal

Gunmen suspected of being a bandit invaded a junior high school in the Yebu community of the Abu Jaquari regional council and kidnapped the vice-principal Mr. Muhammad Nuhu.

According to the “Daily Trust” report, a teacher at the school, who asked not to be named, said that the kidnappers attacked the school’s staff dormitory with cutting-edge weapons.

He said that some criminals set up roadblocks in the dormitory, while other gangs crossed the fence and entered the compound, from where they broke into his apartment and took him away.

He said that the kidnappers tied up the security guard at the door before forcibly opening the victim’s door.

“Even some teachers who stayed in the dormitory were unable to come out because of sporadic gunfire.” He said.

The incident occurred on Saturday night, three days before the attack on the staff dormitory of Abuja University in the Giri region.

Comrade Stephen Knabayi, Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria (NUT) Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Department, confirmed to the Daily Trust the news of the kidnapping of the vice-principal.

He said that the incident occurred a few days after the abduction of Abubakar Abdullahi Gbedako, the chief imam of the Yabgoji Central Mosque. He was also the deputy principal of Kwaito Junior High School. In the Kwali District Council.

Knabayi said the union has written several emails to the FCT administration and some regional committee chairmen, complaining that its members are constantly being kidnapped.

FCT Police Command spokesperson DSP Adeh Josephine said when contacted that she is currently in a meeting.

She promised to call our reporter back after the meeting but has not done so as of the publication of this report.
