Cursory: A legendary female singer donated $100,000 to 10 students and pledged $2 million through her BeyGOOD foundation for students and small businesses in under-resourced areas.

American music icon, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, generously donated $100,000 to support 10 students at the Detroit School for Digital Technology in the United States who were facing financial difficulties in paying their school fees.
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter is a highly acclaimed American singer, songwriter, and businesswoman, known for her groundbreaking artistry and exceptional vocal performances.
During her performance in Detroit as part of her ‘Renaissance World Tour,’ Beyoncé pledged a significant amount to assist the students as part of the Renaissance Scholars program, a philanthropic initiative she had already initiated before embarking on the highly-anticipated tour.
Beyoncé’s philanthropic endeavors go beyond her music career, as she is actively involved in supporting various causes.
The spokesperson for Beyoncé expressed joy in being with the Detroit School for Digital Technology and revealed that @dsdttech would receive $100,000 from the Renaissance scholarship funds to assist students facing financial challenges.
“We were delighted to spend the morning with the Detroit School for Digital Technology, and announce that @dsdttech will receive $100K in Renaissance scholarship funds to support students with financial need,” her Instagram post partly reads.
Prior to this, Beyoncé had already announced her intention to contribute two million dollars to support both students and small businesses through her BeyGOOD foundation.
The BeyGood Foundation is dedicated to promoting economic equity and education in underserved and marginalized areas across the United States.
“I am hugely proud of the work we have done over a decade at BeyGOOD, here in the US and around the world, from scholarships to the water crisis in Burundi to helping families during Hurricane Harvey in my hometown, Houston,” Beyonce said.”
It has been beyond fulfilling to be of service. Now as a foundation, we will continue the work of engaging partners through innovative programs to impact even more people,” she added.
The DSDT scholarship isn’t Beyoncé’s first philanthropic effort in Michigan: In 2016, she donated $82,000 for water relief efforts in Flint, which included money contributed by fans during her Formation World Tour. She also earmarked $1,000 each for 14 Detroit area high school sophomores with college plans.
