Bingham University recently matriculated One Thousand, five hundred and four (1504) students into its forty (40) undergraduate programmes across 15 Faculties for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. W.B Qurix, OFR in his address ,congratulated the freshers for securing slots in the stiff competition for space in the university.
He advised them to make judicious and optimal use of the opportunities at their disposal in the University during their period of study.

“The University is known for its entrepreneurship curriculum and, on the basis of this, has built a Centre for Entrepreneurship,Innovation and Leadership Studies (CEILS).Every student will be required to take advantage and learn one of many skills available. No student of the University will graduate without having an entrepreneurship skill”,he said.
Prof Qurix said the University would not tolerate vices,adding that University had banned the use of Smart phones and allow only laptops.
“Android phones are weapons of mass destruction if we do not handle them appropriately “,he added.
He implored parents and guardians ,who he referred to as partners in progress to give the University the needed support in this regard so that collectively we can raise young men and women who will serve as catalyst for positive change in our nation.
He added that the University had established robust partnerships and collaborations with notable world class universities such as Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK, and Sumy State University Ukraine amongst many others ,who are helping to position it as a leading institution.
Prof Qurix while thanking everyone for the support he has enjoyed as Vice-Chancellor implored them to give adequate support to the next Vice-Chancellor who will be taking over in January 2024 as his tenure comes to an end after 6 years .
The guest speaker at the occasion, Prof Rhoda Mundi,said there are different types of talents which require nurturing.
Speaking on the topic”Discovering and making the most of your talent ” said it was very important for one to know his talent.
“Accept failure as a learning process and create other opportunities for skills development and acquisition of new skills such as mentorship programmes and attending courses and workshops “.
“Embrace your uniqueness, discover what sets you on fire and let the passion move you forward ” added Prof.Mundi.
The highpoint of the event was the administration of the Matriculation Oath on the students by the Registrar, Dr.Mrs Esther J.Dyaji
