CUSTECH Osara Pro-Chancellor Donates Books Worth Over Two Million Naira to CUSTECH Library

The Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH Osara Pro-Chancellor has donated Books worth more than two million naira to the university Library.

The books which are mainly literary works authored by Prof. Olu Obafemi includes a rich assortment of novels, poetry and drama.

According to the donor, Professor Emeritus Olu Obafemi who is the Pro- Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of the University, many leading Nigerian writers are Scientists, Doctors and Engineers who have benefited from general knowledge. They include, T.M Aluko, Engineer; Elechi Amadi, Physicists; Cyprian Ekwensi, Engineer; and Ene Henshaw, Medical Doctor.He therefore hopes the books will serve as valuable resources for students and researchers in the University.

Presenting the books to the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, FNSE, Emeritus Professor Obafemi explained that the donation was inspired by his desire to encourage younger generations to cultivate the habit of reading.He emphasized the importance of literature in shaping minds, fostering critical thinking, and preserving cultural heritage.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Professor Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, expressed profound gratitude for the Pro-Chancellor’s generous donation, which he described as significant boost to the university’s efforts to build a robust academic environment and a well-equipped library.

Professor Salawu also called on other well-meaning individuals and stakeholders to emulate the Pro-Chancellor’s exemplary gesture by contributing to the development of education, particularly at CUSTECH, Osara.
