Edo State University Iyamho – Governing Council Approves Promotion of Academic Staff

Edo State University, Iyamho, has achieved another significant milestone in its pursuit of academic excellence.

At the meeting of the Appointments and Promotions Committee (A&PC) of the Governing Council held on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, the promotion of five distinguished academic staff members was approved.

This decision reflects the University’s unwavering commitment to rewarding outstanding scholarship, impactful research, quality teaching, and dedicated service.

Promoted to Professor
The following members of staff were elevated to the rank of Professor:

  • Professor Alexander Olawumi Dabor – Department of Accounting
  • Professor Solomon Awuzie – Department of English

Promoted to Associate Professor
The following members of staff were promoted to the rank of Associate Professor:

  • Associate Professor Godwin Ohiokha – Department of Accounting
  • Associate Professor Wilson Ebhotemhen – Department of Economics
  • Associate Professor Ekhoye Ehitare Ikekhuaemen – Department of Physiology
