Elizabeth Suuru, a brilliant Nigerian lady, has made her alma mater proud by graduating with a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ibadan (UI). Her exceptional academic performance earned her three prestigious departmental awards, crowning her as the Overall Best Graduating Student in the Department of Human Kinetics.
Elizabeth’s journey to UI wasn’t easy. She initially gained admission through the College of Education, a path she describes as emotionally challenging and filled with uncertainty. However, with the unwavering support of her family and a renewed sense of purpose, she eventually secured admission into UI in 2021.
Throughout her four years at UI, Elizabeth maintained strong grades, balancing rigorous coursework with active participation in campus life. She distinguished herself as a student leader, serving in multiple leadership capacities, including Vice President, Departmental President, and Member of several committees and student bodies.
Elizabeth credits her success to faith, family support, and the courage to persevere when the path was unclear. She believes her achievement is a testament to the power of hard work and determination. Elizabeth’s story serves as inspiration to young Nigerians, showing that with dedication and resilience, they can achieve their goals.
The University of Ibadan has a history of producing outstanding graduates, with 448 students bagging First-Class degrees in the 2024/2025 academic session.
