NYSC Corper’s Struggle to Secure PPA

A female NYSC corper, @Ndayeabasim, who studied Biochemistry, is struggling to secure a Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) due to constant rejections, sparking a conversation about the challenges faced by NYSC corpers.

A female NYSC corper, @Ndayeabasim, who studied Biochemistry, has taken to social media to share her struggles in securing a Place of Primary Assignment (PPA). In a viral video, she expressed her frustration, stating that she has faced constant rejections due to her discipline. “You see that thing wey they dey use tell us say you are studying a stupid course, is when you are going for NYSC that you will know. To find where they go accept you for service, you go suffer,” she said.

The corper urged individuals aspiring to study Biochemistry to reconsider, warning they could encounter similar experiences. She has been searching for a PPA but has been met with rejection, leading her to question the value of her degree.

The video has sparked reactions from TikTok users, with some sharing their own experiences. @Blizz, who studied Microbiology, shared that she is currently serving in the Ministry of Health. @adeoti_crowns, who studied Accounting, said she was initially rejected but ended up teaching English.

Some users offered words of encouragement, while others pointed out that rejection is not unique to Biochemistry graduates. @TÕñY noted that even medical doctors face rejection, and it’s often due to the place being filled up.

The corper’s decision to share her experience has sparked a conversation about the challenges faced by NYSC corpers in securing PPAs.
