Father Celebrates Daughter Named Best UTME Candidate in Nigeria

Sixteen-year-old Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin was celebrated nationwide after emerging as the overall best candidate in the 2026 UTME with a score of 372, prompting her father and many Nigerians to praise her outstanding academic achievement.

The father of 16-year-old UTME candidate, Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin, has reacted with joy after the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced his daughter as the overall best candidate in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The announcement was made during JAMB’s 2026 Policy Meeting on Admission to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja on Monday, May 11. Daniella, who intends to study Medicine and Surgery at University of Lagos, achieved an impressive aggregate score of 372.

According to the breakdown of her results, she scored 98 in English Language, 98 in Chemistry, 94 in Physics, and 82 in Biology, making her the highest-scoring candidate in the country for the 2026/2027 examination session.

Reacting to the achievement in a Facebook post, her father, Owoeye Kehinde Joshua, expressed pride and gratitude over his daughter’s outstanding performance. He congratulated Daniella for bringing honor to their family, Erinmope Ekiti community, and the entire Ekiti State.

In his message, he praised her dedication and prayed for greater accomplishments in her academic journey. He described her success as a moment of pride for the Owoeye and Ibidunni families and wished her continued excellence in the future.

Following the announcement, many Nigerians took to social media to celebrate Daniella’s remarkable achievement. Several users applauded her intelligence, hard work, and determination, while others offered prayers and words of encouragement as she prepares to pursue her dream career in medicine.
