Federal College of Agric Akure (FECA) Post UTME Form

Federal College of Agriculture, Akure (FECA), one of the leading higher institutions of learning in Nigeria pioneering a lot of research in the area of food and livestock production, accredited by the NBTE and Approved by NYSC, invites suitably qualified candidates to its 2024/2025 academic session Post UTME screening exercise.

The College is currently offering admission into the following full-time and part-time programmes, and short-time certificate courses.

REMEDIAL COURSE (PRE-ND)

The programme is designed to prepare candidates for the National Diploma (ND) programme.

Entry Requirements:

Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in WASC or GCE O’LEVEL or SSCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings in the following subjects – English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology, and any other relevant subject.

Duration: One year (Two Semesters)

B. NATIONAL DIPLOMA COURSES (ND)

  • Agricultural Technology
  • Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology
  • Animal Health and Production Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Fisheries Technology
  • Forestry Technology
  • Horticultural Technology

Entry Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in WASC or GCE O’LEVEL or SSCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings. The five subjects must include Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, plus three other subjects from Economics, English Language, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, or Statistics. Candidates must not score below the UTME cut-off mark for the institution

OR

Five Credit passes in NBTE recognized Preliminary National Diploma (Pre-ND) course offered in a polytechnic or similar post-secondary institution. The five credit passes must be from subjects specified in (A) above.

  • Candidates must not score below the UTME cut-off mark for the institution.

Duration:

  • Full-time – Two Academic Years (Four Semesters)
  • Part-time – Three Academic Years (Six Semesters)

Higher National Diploma Courses (HND)

  • Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering (Farm Option)
  • Agricultural Extension and Management
  • Animal Health and Production Technology
  • Crop Production Technology
  • Horticulture and Landscape Design
  • Pasture and Range Management

Entry Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of Lower Credit in Cognate ND plus Five O’Level credits in relevant subjects obtained at WASC/GCE/NECO/NABTEB.

Candidates must also have one year Post-ND Industrial Training (IT) experience.

NCE holders (Agric. Double Major) are also eligible for HND programmes.

Duration:

  • Full-time – Two Academic Years (Four Semesters)
  • Part-time – Three Academic Years (Six Semesters)

Certificate Courses

  • Poultry Production and Management.
  • Pig Production and Management
  • Fish Cage Culture
  • Horticulture and Landscape Design
  • Landscaping
  • Flower Nursery Establishment and Ornamental Plant Identification
  • Organic Vegetable Production
  • Horticultural Plant Propagation
  • Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology
  • Farm Mechanization
  • Tractor Operation and Maintenance
  • Irrigation Technology

Entry Requirements:

  • JSS/SSS Certificate (Holders of the Primary Six Certificate may also be considered).
  • Duration: One Academic Year (Two Semesters)

Advanced Certificate Courses

  • Agroclimatology, Climate Change, and Bio-diversity.
  • Statistics and Economic Planning
  • General Agriculture

 Entry Requirements:

  • Certificate in any Agricultural Science course (Holders of Primary Six Certificate may also be considered)
  • Duration: Two Academic Years (Four Semesters)

Advanced Diploma Courses

  • Crop Production and Statistics
  • Statistics

Entry Requirements:

  • Advanced Certificate in any Agric.Science Course (Holders of Primary Six or JSS/SSS Certificate may also be considered).
  • Duration: Three Academic Years (Six Semesters)

These courses are specifically designed for staff from the Produce and Quality Control Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Extension Officers, Women in Agriculture, ADPs, and Degree- holders not in Agriculture.

  • Make sure the personal and educational information provided is accurate.
  • Please ensure that the scratch card details supplied have not been exhausted. You will be required to provide another card if usage has been exhausted.
  • Upload all the required documents.
  • Make sure all uploaded documents and your passport (maximum of 50 kb on white background) are well arranged.
  • Crosscheck the entire form before clicking on the “Submit Form” button.
  • Once your application is submitted, you can always check your login to check on your admission status. If you will write a test or attend an admission interview, you will be notified.
