The Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare (FUAzare), Bauchi State, has officially matriculated 1,178 students for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Bala Audu, disclosed this during the institution’s third matriculation ceremony held on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
In his address, Professor Audu underscored the significance of matriculation as a fundamental step in formally integrating students into the university community.
“Student matriculation is the most important cardinal requirement for qualifying any admitted student as a bona fide member of any tertiary institution,” he stated.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the newly admitted students and emphasized the competitive nature of their admission.
“Your admission into this university is highly competitive and purposeful. The goal is to groom and train you to be useful to yourself, your family, society, the nation, and humanity. I urge you to be law-abiding and dedicated to your studies to achieve success,” he said.
Professor Audu reiterated the university’s commitment to upholding high moral and academic standards. He highlighted FUAzare’s zero-tolerance policy for social vices, including cultism, examination misconduct, sexual harassment, drug abuse, indecent dressing, vandalism, theft, and truancy.
He warned that students involved in such behaviors would face disciplinary action, which could lead to dismissal.
“FUAzare is not only focused on imparting knowledge but also on molding the character and behaviour of students to become exemplary ambassadors of the nation,” the Vice Chancellor emphasized.
Professor Audu also reflected on the institution’s core values, which prioritize learning and character development. He highlighted the university’s vision of nurturing a high-standard institution to be recognized among the world’s best.
In his concluding remarks, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the matriculating students on their milestone achievement. He urged them to uphold the values of their families and the university in all interactions within and beyond the campus.
The ceremony marked a significant moment for the university community as it continues its mission of academic excellence and character development.
