Raphael Ezechukwu, a 27-year-old first-class graduate from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, is battling end-stage kidney failure and urgently needs N45 million for a lifesaving transplant.

A 27-year-old first-class graduate of Business Administration from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, Raphael Ezechukwu, is urgently seeking N45 million to undergo a kidney transplant after being diagnosed with complete kidney failure.
Raphael, a native of Umuchi village in Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, shared his story during an interview at his residence at 14 Ezendu Street, off Mercedes Avenue, Nkpor-Agu, in Idemili North LGA.
A Promising Life Interrupted
“I graduated just last year and have been unwell ever since,” he explained. “At first, I thought it was malaria. But things got worse — my urine changed color, and my body began to swell. That’s when we turned to medical experts.”
After several tests, doctors discovered that one kidney had failed. He was placed on dialysis, undergoing as many as 50 sessions without improvement. Recently, tests confirmed the second kidney has also failed, and doctors say he has just two months to live without a transplant.
A Mother’s Desperate Cry
His mother, Mrs. Stella Nwakaego Ezechukwu, said the family has already spent N18 million on medical care and is now financially drained.
“My husband was bedridden for 11 years before he passed. We sold everything to care for him. Not long after burying him, Raphael fell ill. We have borrowed beyond our means. Doctors say a transplant must happen urgently,” she said.
