First Lady Donates 50,000 Notebooks to Kogi Pupils
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has contributed 50,000 notebooks to public primary schools in Kogi State as part of her “Renewed Hope Initiative” project and in furtherance of SDG 4.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, has contributed 50,000 notebooks to public primary schools in Kogi State as part of her “Renewed Hope Initiative” project.
The distribution was launched by Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, the wife of the Kogi Governor, on Thursday at the Glass House, Government House in Lokoja.
Hajia Ododo praised Mrs. Tinubu for her dedication to improving education and empowering children in public schools nationwide. She highlighted Mrs. Tinubu’s visionary leadership and passion for quality education, emphasizing that the initiative is an inspiring model to follow.
The Kogi Governor’s wife pledged to support and emulate the First Lady’s efforts to enhance educational outcomes, noting that the notebooks would be distributed across all 36 states of the federation. She encouraged Kogi residents to support her husband in advancing the state.

Additionally, she urged pupils to prioritize their studies and called on stakeholders to ensure fair distribution of the notebooks in public primary schools throughout Kogi.
Mr. Wemi Jones, the state’s Commissioner for Education, also lauded the First Lady’s contribution, underlining the sustainability of educational support. He assured that structures are in place to ensure the notebooks reach their intended recipients. Jones reiterated the administration’s commitment to providing free education at the basic and secondary levels in public schools across Kogi.
Hajiya Fatima Momoh, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, commended Mrs. Tinubu’s efforts to enhance education standards nationwide. Mall. Salihu Usman, representing the forum of Education Secretaries, promised fair distribution of the notebooks.
The event concluded with the official handover of the notebooks by the Kogi First Lady to the Commissioner for Education for distribution to the pupils.
