Five Corps members were awarded over N3.2 million in grants by Activate Success International Foundation, in collaboration with NYSC, to support innovative business ideas and promote self-employment among Nigerian youths.


The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to empower Corps members for self-employment. He emphasized that his administration, guided by its five-point policy thrust, is determined to reduce unemployment among Nigerian graduate youths.
Brigadier General Ahmed made this statement during a grant presentation ceremony where five Corps members were awarded business grants by the Founder of Activate Success International Foundation, Mrs. Love Idoko Uloko. The event took place at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.
The grant recipients are:
• Enwemeka Blessing (FC/24A/5897)
• Abdumalik Ibrahim (FC/24A/6157)
• Akande Olaitan Sunday (FC/24B/3856)
• Blessing Ijeoma Omachi (FC/24B/5031)
• Emmanuel Ali (FC/24B/0603)
According to Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the first three recipients were awarded N750,000 each, while the last two received N500,000 each. Their business ideas span across various sectors, including fashion, food and confectionery, and horticulture.
In her address, Mrs. Love Idoko Uloko highlighted the rigorous and transparent selection process that identified the beneficiaries. She praised their creativity, resilience, and vision, noting that the initiative is an investment in their dreams and potential.
“So far, we have supported 53 Corps members through this initiative. For over seven years, Activate Success International Foundation has partnered with NYSC to provide transformative opportunities, helping Corps members discover their talents, pursue their gifts, and build purposeful lives,” she said.
Mrs. Uloko emphasized that the programme aims to create a ripple effect of growth and innovation by fostering a generation of self-reliant leaders who can contribute meaningfully to society. She also expressed gratitude to the NYSC Director General and his team for their steadfast dedication to youth empowerment.
