The management of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, JABU has announced the appointment of Eminent Civil Engineering Professor as New Pro-Chancellor.


The Vice-Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Professor Olasebikan Alade Fakolujo announces the appointment of the institution’s 3rd Substantive Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Danladi Slim Matawal, DIC, Ph.D., FANSE, FAEng., FAEEA, FNSE, FNICE, FNIGE, FNIHTE, FNAEGE, FNIPE, a distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Matawal succeeded Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan, who has been called to serve the nation on a federal assignment. The University leadership is expressing deep appreciation to Professor Amupitan for his exemplary service, dedication, and significant contributions to the growth and development of the institution.
Professor Matawal has assumed office as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council and has presided over his maiden Governing Council meeting on Thursday, April 9, 2026, where key strategic matters concerning the University’s continued advancement were discussed.
The University community warmly welcome Professor Matawal and is looking forward to his wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and commitment to excellence as JABU continues to pursue its mission of raising godly leaders and achieving academic distinction.
