It means, additional requirement for a particular course in a particular school. If your school have a special consideration for either O’level Requirement, UTME Subject Combination or Direct Entry Requirement, then please take note of it.
Note sometimes in special consideration column, the school requirement might be slight different from the general requirement. We advice you know your desired school’s special consideration for your course. ITS NECESSARY else you might be denied admission.
UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION FOR ANIMAL PRODUCTION
Below is the UTME/JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION for Animal Production in faculty of Agriculture/Vet. medicine;
English Language(*), Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics/Mathematics.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
(i) CRUTECH requires Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology or Chemistry.
(ii) LAUTECH requires Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics and Biology/Agricultural Sciences.
(iii) FUTA requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry and Mathematics/Physics.
O’LEVEL REQUIREMENT FOR ANIMAL PRODUCTION
Below is the UTME Requirement for Animal Production in the faculty of Agriculture/Vet. medicine;
Five SSC credit passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics and English Language.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
(i) CRUTECH, EKSU, MAKURDI and UNIZIK accepts ‘O’ level pass in Physics.
(ii) ADSU and BAUCHI accept ‘O’ level pass in Physics with ‘O’ level pass in Mathematics or vice-versa
(iii) UNIZIK accepts ‘O’ level pass in English Language. ‘O’ level credit pass in Mathematics or ‘O’ level pass in Physics or vice versa.
(iv) NDU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
(v) FUNAAB as in Agriculture Extension and Rural Development.
(vi) UMUDIKE – Same as in Agriculture.
(vii) ABSU requires ‘O’ level credit in Physics
(viii) FUTA requires five (5) credit passes at SSC, or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science.
(ix) JABU accepts ‘O’ level pass in Physics.
(x) MINNA – Same as in Water Resources, Aquaculture and Fisheries Technology.
(xi) LAUTECH accepts Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics and English Language.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR ANIMAL PRODUCTION
Below is the DIRECT ENTRY (DE) Requirement for Animal Production in faculty of Agricultural/Vet. Medicine;
Two ‘A’ level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and one of Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science/Geography/Geology/Mathematics/Economics.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)
(i) BAUCHI and MINNA accept NCE, ND, HND with overall credit passes in each of the Agricultural components of the programme or a minimum of lower credit plus four (4) ‘O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects.
(ii) IBADAN requires two (2) of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and ND/HND in Agriculture or Animal Health and Husbandry
(iii) EKSU, MAKURDI and UMUDIKE – Same as in Agricultural Economics.
(iv) EKSU – As in Agricultural Economics and Extension and does not accept NCE.
(v) ADSU accepts ND distinction, HND credit, NCE credit double major in Agriculture
(vi) NDU – Same as in Fisheries Technology.
(vii) LAUTECH requires ND with upper credit/HND/NCE at credit level in relevant subjects, plus the UTME requirements
(viii) FUNAAB accepts (a) Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and one (1) of Zoology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Biology, Mathematics or Physics. (b) ND/HND upper credit in Agriculture from a recognised institution in any one of Animal Sciences, Animal Production and Health, Husbandry, Agricultural Economics, Fisheries and Forestry and Wildlife Management plus the UTME requirements. (c) NCE credit in Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics plus the UTME requirements.
(x) FUTA requires; (i) ND with a minimum of upper credit or equivalent from recognised Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Agricultural Sciences. (ii) GCE or equivalent passes at one sitting with at least six (6) points in Biology/Animal Husbandry and any of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
(x) JABU requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any others from Economics, Physics, Geography and Mathematics. ND/NCE upper credit in relevant areas.
