JAMB has warned against group processing of UTME and DE applications, advising that candidates complete their registrations individually to avoid inaccuracies and compromised data, and stated it will not correct errors arising from school-led registrations.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cautioned candidates against using group processing for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) applications.
In its weekly bulletin, JAMB emphasized that UTME and DE applications should be completed individually by the candidates, rather than through schools or agents.
JAMB highlighted that group processing often results in inaccuracies and complications in candidates’ records, noting that many data correction requests stem from mishandling during group registrations by schools.
The board stated, “Going forward, we will not entertain correction requests from candidates whose details have been compromised due to group processing.”
JAMB also advised parents to ensure that their children or wards personally complete their registrations for any of the board’s services, stressing that these processes are an essential part of the educational experience.
The board warned, “Group processing by schools prevents candidates from fully understanding these critical procedures,” and urged parents not to make payments to schools for JAMB UTME registration.
JAMB reiterated that it will not correct errors resulting from school registrations, as maintaining the integrity and accuracy of each candidate’s information is a priority.
