allscho Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has ordered the immediate screening of over 4,000 educators who recently completed the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) program.
The directive came during a public event held Monday for the distribution of instructional materials to schools across the state. Governor Yusuf highlighted the move as part of his administration’s commitment to revitalizing the education sector.
“This is not just about employment,” Yusuf stated. “It’s about enhancing the quality of teaching in our public schools. Only qualified and competent candidates will be retained.”
He instructed the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to begin the screening process without delay, noting that the candidates will undergo an aptitude test to assess their readiness for permanent positions in the education system.
According to Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson, the test will serve as a fair and transparent measure of the teachers’ capabilities.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed that this initiative aims to ensure that every child in Kano receives quality education from well-trained professionals.
