KASU Notice on Implementation of New Structure for Faculty of Computing

Kaduna State University, KASU Implementation of New Structure for Faculty of Computing.

Aligned with Kaduna State University’s mission and vision and the evolving computing landscape, the University Senate Committee has approved a revised structure for the Faculty of Computing, effective from July 8th, 2024.

The Faculty now comprises three specialized departments:

  • Department of Informatics
  • Department of Intelligent Computing
  • Department of Secure Computing

The Department of Informatics will continue offering existing undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including BSc Computer Science, PGD Computer Science, PGD MIS, PGD Software Design, PGD Hardware Maintenance, MSc Computer Science, MPhil Computer Science, and PhD Computer Science. It will also emphasize areas such as Information Systems, ICT, and Software Engineering.

The Department of Intelligent Computing will focus on emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, preparing students for the era of intelligent systems.

The Department of Secure Computing will address the increasing demands for cybersecurity and data protection, safeguarding our digital infrastructure.

All stakeholders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these changes and ensure a smooth transition.
