Kebbi Lawmaker Awards Scholarships to 23 Students

Kebbi lawmaker Faruku Maisudan awarded scholarships to 23 students, primarily female, to study at the State College of Health Sciences and Technology as part of his effort to support education and increase health workers in his constituency.

Faruku Maisudan, a member representing Suru Local Government Constituency in the Kebbi House of Assembly, has awarded scholarships to 23 students to attend the State College of Health Sciences and Technology.

On Sunday, Maisudan presented admission letters to 17 female and six male students at Suru in Suru Local Government Area, as part of his initiative to address the need for health workers across all 11 wards of his constituency.

“This scholarship program aims to support the education of future health workers, focusing on female students,” Maisudan explained. “Education is essential for development and societal progress, and it’s a priority for me as a lawmaker.”

The lawmaker urged the beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity, which covers full registration fees and other logistical expenses.

Speaking on behalf of the parents, Jafar Haliru-Mutube II, the “Lamido Dakingari,” praised Maisudan for his leadership and dedication to education in the area, noting that this was the third batch of scholarships granted by the lawmaker, following similar support for students at Kebbi State Polytechnic.

Haliru-Mutube encouraged others to follow Maisudan’s example in promoting education and supporting local youth.
