Dr. Babington-Ashaye, an alumna of the Department of Actuarial Science & Insurance at Lagos State Polytechnic, has chosen to extend her support to students in similar fields at UNILAG.

The Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics & Research), Prof. Bola Oboh, expressed gratitude to the foundation for its ongoing support. She encouraged the scholarship recipients to give back and uphold the values of both UNILAG and the profession of Actuarial Science/Insurance.

During the award ceremony on August 16, 2024, Halimat Bamigboye, speaking on behalf of the recipients, thanked the foundation, noting that the award serves as both recognition and motivation for continued excellence.

The Funmi Babington-Ashaye Foundation, established on October 22, 2015, aims to assist high-achieving students from modest backgrounds. Each scholarship, valued at one hundred thousand naira, is designed to support outstanding 400-level students.
