The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, has uncovered a syndicate forging ND and HND results within the institution, leading to the suspension of five staff members and a renewed commitment to uphold academic integrity and transparency.
The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, has uncovered a large-scale syndicate involved in the production and sale of forged academic results within the institution.
Following the discovery, five staff members, including a Deputy Registrar, have been suspended pending further investigation.

Forged ND and HND Certificates Exposed
During a press briefing held in Lokoja on Wednesday, Professor Ogbo described the development as “a serious threat to the integrity and reputation of the Polytechnic.”
According to him, investigations by the Admission, ICT, and Security Units revealed a network of individuals — comprising students, non-students, and staff — who were allegedly producing fake National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) results for personal gain.
He confirmed that while several staff members had been suspended, others implicated in the scheme, including one Mr. Dominic Egwuda, remain at large.
Rector Reaffirms Zero Tolerance for Fraud
Professor Ogbo reiterated his administration’s determination to uphold the school’s academic integrity, emphasizing that anyone involved would face strict disciplinary measures and possible prosecution.
“We will not allow anyone to destroy the integrity of Kogi State Polytechnic,” he said.
“All those found guilty will face appropriate disciplinary actions and legal consequences.”
He also reaffirmed the institution’s zero-tolerance policy on academic malpractice, noting that the Polytechnic’s quality assurance and security systems remain robust.

Professor Ogbo assured stakeholders that the management is fully committed to restoring and maintaining public confidence in the Polytechnic.
“Our commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity is unwavering. We will continue to sanitize the system and ensure that only hard work is rewarded,” he added.
