A young female law student identified as Lauraine Ghartey, who failed the law bar Examination twice has celebrated as she successfully passed the exam on her third attempt.

Lauraine Ghartey took to social media to celebrate finally rising above the storms on her journey to becoming a lawyer.
In a LinkedIn post, Lauraine shared that she, unfortunately, sat for the Ghana Bar exams and failed on two occasions. She then decided to move to the Kumasi campus to try her luck for the last time.
While preparing for the next exams, she realized the need to have a backup plan in place and through the counsel of her aunty, she applied for a master’s degree in International Business at the York University, Osgoode Hall Law School and gained admission.
According to Lauraine, her classes were all online thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and that afforded her the extra time to prepare for her last round of the Ghana Bar exams.

Read her story below:
After two failed attempts at passing the Ghana Bar exam at both the Greenhill and Makola campuses, I packed my bags and headed to the Kumasi Campus as my last resort.
Whilst there, I realised I needed a backup plan, so I enrolled in a Masters programme at York University – Osgoode Hall Law School with the assistance of my Aunt, Elsie Dickson.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which was a blessing in disguise, the programme was entirely online, making it possible to balance it with the writing the Ghana bar exam.
In December 2020, i was called to the Ghana Bar; a few months later, a Masters in International Business Law from York University – Osgoode Hall Law School was bagged.
On the 4th of June 2022, as I crossed the stage at the Convocation Ceremony, I was convinced that there was absolutely no way I could have done this on my own. God helped me; and I am eternally grateful!
I am also grateful to my Loved one, Parents, Siblings, Family, Friends, Mentors, Lectures(especially Janet Walker, CM ), Seniors at work (Ghartey & Ghartey Law Firm), Classmates and all who helped in obtaining this Degree.
Her story generated tons of congratulatory comments. Below are a few:
