A Nigerian man was left astonished after a viral TikTok video showed a fresher arriving on campus with an enormous stash of food items, sparking widespread amusement and reactions online.

A Nigerian man was left completely stunned after witnessing the staggering amount of food items a first-year student (fresher) brought along to school at the start of a new session.
The moment, captured in a viral TikTok video shared by user @absurants, shows the fresher arriving on campus with what looked like an entire mini grocery store.
In the clip, the new student could be seen unloading his supplies — tubers of yam, a bucket of onions, a full bag of rice, a large container of groundnut oil, and several other foodstuffs — all neatly arranged in his hostel room.
According to the man who filmed the video, the sight was so impressive he couldn’t help but record it. Jokingly, he remarked that the fresher clearly “meant business” and was obviously not planning to go hungry throughout his stay on campus.
“Omo, This Fresher No Dey Play”
The video’s caption humorously read: “Omo, this fresher really mean business o. So this fresher no dey play o.”
From all indications, the young man came well-prepared to face campus life — perhaps to avoid the high cost of food and canteen meals that many students complain about.
Reactions from Netizens
The video quickly went viral, sparking laughter and conversation online. Many TikTok users shared their own reactions and experiences as students, while graduates reminisced about their early days on campus.
