MAUTECH Warns Against Fraudulent Individuals Impersonating VC on Facebook.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The attention of the University Community and the general public is hereby drawn to the fact that the Facebook account of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Umar, (Facebook account link attached) has been compromised.

The account is currently not in use, and some individuals are using it to deceive and scam members of the public.

Members of the public are therefore advised to disregard any message, request, or communication from that Facebook account and any other social media account bearing his name and picture, as he’s not active on Facebook.

Do not respond to such messages under any circumstances.

The Vice-Chancellor will NOT
request for money, assistance, or any personal favour from anyone.

All payments, transactions, and official communications follow the approved University procedures and channels only.

Even if you believe you have the Vice-Chancellor’s contact or details, please do not respond to such unsolicited requests. Simply ignore and disregard them.

Additionally, although the Vice-Chancellor’s WhatsApp account was previously compromised, it has now been recovered.

Nonetheless, we advise the public to continue exercising caution and vigilance.
