Nigerian Studying Abroad Sent To Jail For Threatening To Bomb His University

CURSORY : Somtochukwu Okwuoha, a Nigerian student, was given a 40-month jail sentence by a British court, he was charged with making threats against Dundee University.

Dundee Somtochukwu Okwuoha, a Nigerian student at Dundee University in Scotland studying international energy studies, was given a 40-month prison sentence for threatening to attack the university.

According to the Perth Sheriff court, which convicted him guilty of seven offenses in November, including making terrorist threats against the institution, the 26-year-old should be deported after serving his jail sentence.

In addition to indicating intentions to lunch a chemical attack on the city, Okwuoha claimed to have asked the terrorist group ISIS for help in carrying out the attack.

Statements against Okwuoha; Individuals testified in court on Okwuoha’s plans to launch a massive attack at Dundee University.

They disclosed that he claimed to have military training, he’s able to make bombs, and able to release a deadly virus.

Former student services director and now retired, Keith Mackle, revealed that he was first concerned about the issue in the fall of 2021 after staff members received emails including threats of terrorism.

Mackle recalled an email that said, “Expect a massive bomb explosion at the University of Dundee. I have contacted ISIS terrorists to plant bombs on campus.

“I can assure you, staff and students will die in great numbers. 9/11 will be a joke compared to what will happen. Blood will spill and flesh will be scattered.”

Campus security officer Stewart Kennedy said he received a call from an unknown number, informing him that there was a bomb on campus and that there would likely be an immediate threat of unrest that night.

Kennedy said: “I could tell he was covering his mouth to disguise it, but I could tell it was an African accent.”

Shane Taylor, who is in charge of accommodations, related an event in which Okwuoha accused him of racism and threatened to retaliate by going after Scottish people.

According to the court, after serving his jail sentence, Mr. Okwuoha will be deported back to Nigeria.
