Nigerian Maritime University, NMU Issues Notice to All Students & Staff Regarding Proposed Nationwide Protests


I wish to bring to the attention of staff and students directive of the Honourable Minister of Education concerning safety and security of staff, students and university property on the planned nationwide protests scheduled to hold on Thursday, 1st to Saturday, 10th August 2024, and to advise:
- Caution on both staff and students to remain at their duty posts and focus on their academic pursuits on campus, so as to avoid exposure to any potential danger during the planned protests
- Management would take appropriate proactive steps to ensure the security and safety of the university community, including staff and students during the period.
- And that, all Staff and Students are hereby advised to stay away from all public gatherings for their safety and security.
I am to add that, this is communicated to you for your information and strict compliance, should the proposed protests hold, please.
