The management of the University of Calabar has taken note of circulating social media reports announcing the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor.

We wish to inform stakeholders and the general public that these reports are completely false.
There is a clear cut process for the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor and when that is done, the general public will be duly informed.
The University’s Governing Council has not made any official announcement regarding the outcome.
We urge everyone to exercise caution and restraint, as any official communication will be transmitted through the University’s approved channels.
The University of Calabar values transparency and accuracy in its operations and will ensure that all official announcements are made in a timely and appropriate manner.
We kindly request that members of the public disregard any information regarding the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor that does not emanate from the University’s official communication channels.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
