“No Delay Of Results, No Disparity In Our Certificates” – Prof.  Adeogun Says Sandwich Degree Candidates

The Director of the Directorate of Sandwich Degree Programme, Lagos State University, Prof. Olufemi Adeogun has stated emphatically that the selling points of the programme remain; no disparity in the curriculum and certificates awarded for both regular and part-time students at the university, and timely release of student’s results.

Prof. Adeogun stated this at the screening exercise conducted for candidates seeking admission into the University’s Sandwich Degree Programme, which took place on Saturday, 9th December 2023.

The screening exercise was held at the Faculty of Education TetFund Building, School of Transport & Logistics, and Faculty of Science Old Building, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos, respectively.

The candidates trooped into the campus as early as 8:00 am, and the members of staff of the Directorate who were on ground addressed and directed them to the venues of the screening. Candidates were asked a few questions related to their courses, and their documents were properly scrutinised.

In an interview with the Centre for Information and Public Relations (CIPR) crew, the Director said he was satisfied with the conduct of the screening and appreciated all the staff (teaching and non-teaching) that turned up for the screening exercise.

Prof. Adeogun thanked the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, and other members of the University Management for supporting the Directorate.

His words “…The screening was successful with the support of the teaching and non-teaching staff on ground. I appreciate the candidates for their cooperation, as well as good conduct. We look forward to having them. Our programme selling points include no discrimination in the certificates awarded to the regular and the Sandwich Degree students, same curriculum for both, and no delay in the release of students’ results,” the Director stated. He also thanked staff members from the Directorate, DICT, Bursary, Audit, CIPR, and others present.

Finally, he admonished the candidates to be of good conduct, follow the rules and regulations of the university, and be great ambassadors of the institution upon gaining admission.

In a related development, one of the screening panelists, Head, Department of Science and Technology Education, Prof. Olugbenga Akindoju scored the screening high, describing it as seamless and hitch-free.

Prof. Akindoju added that the test of knowledge could be oral or written, but the candidates were tested with the former. He praised the candidates for their maturity and cooperation.

Over Five Hundred (500) candidates took part in the screening exercise.
