Nasarawa State University, Keffi continues to expand its academic frontiers with the approval of nine (9) new postgraduate programs by its Senate at its 130th Regular meeting, held on Thursday, June 26, 2025.


This significant development strengthens the university’s commitment to providing advanced education and research opportunities in critical and emerging fields.
According to Barrister Ramatu Ahmed Liman, Head of Academic Affairs and Senior Deputy Registrar, a majority of the newly introduced programs will be domiciled in the Ibrahim Jibril Institute for the Built Technology. These include a comprehensive suite of programs focused on sustainability and management within the built environment:
✅️ Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Sustainable Built Environment
✅️ Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Sustainable Built Environment
✅️ Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Sustainable Built Environment
✅️ Master in Sustainable Built Environment
✅️ Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Sustainable Built Environment
✅️ Master in Project Management
✅️ Master in Construction Management
✅️ Master in Facilities Management
In addition to these, the Senate also approved a new program to be housed within the Institute of Governance and Development Studies:
✅️ Master in Leadership and Strategic Studies
Furthermore, approval was granted for the establishment of a program in a highly relevant and crucial area, to be domiciled in the Centre for Disaster Risk Management and Development Studies:
✅️Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Disaster Risk Management
These new programs reflect NSUK’s responsiveness to global and national needs, aiming to equip professionals with advanced knowledge and skills to tackle complex challenges in areas like sustainable development, project execution, and disaster preparedness. The expansion of postgraduate studies further solidifies NSUK’s position as a leading institution for academic excellence and research impact.
