The Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe (FUHSATT) has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence full-time undergraduate programmes across 18 academic disciplines, effective the 2026/2027 academic session.


The approval, contained in a letter dated 9th July 2026 and signed by the Ag. Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei, for the NUC Executive Secretary, Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, follows a resource verification exercise carried out by a panel of experts to assess the University’s human and material capacity for the take-off programmes.
The approved programmes span the health sciences, allied health, and technology fields, including:
- MBBS Medicine and Surgery
- BDS Dentistry
- B.Sc. Complementary and Alternative Medicine
- B.EHS Environmental Health Sciences
- B.Sc. Medicinal Chemistry
- B.HIM Health Information Management
- BMLS Medical Laboratory Science
- B.NSc Nursing Science
- B.Sc. Human Nutrition and Dietetics
- B.OT Occupational Therapy
- DPT Physiotherapy
- B.Rad. Radiography
- D.Pharm Pharmacy
- B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence
- B.Sc. Biotechnology
- B.Sc. Computer Science
- B.Sc. Data Science
- B.Sc. Software Engineering
Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Adamu Yakasai, mni described the approval as a landmark achievement for the University, noting that it reflects the sustained commitment of management, staff, and stakeholders toward building a world-class institution dedicated to health sciences and technology education.
The NUC noted that the approval covers only the full-time mode of delivery, and that the programmes must retain their approved titles and nomenclature, with any changes subject to further Commission approval.
FUHSATT management has assured the university community and the public of its commitment to providing the requisite human and material resources to ensure the successful take-off and sustained growth of the newly approved programmes.
