On a step to fight against Covid-19 NYSC donates hand sanitisers to Ebonyi states. The NYSC coordinator of state said the hand sanitisers are produced by the state corp Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Wednesday, donated over 150 hand sanitisers to the Ebonyi state government in its bid to help prevent the coronavirus spread in the state.

The NYSC state coordinator, Mrs Ann Ibe, said that the hand sanitisers were produced by corps members serving in the state as the scheme’s resolve to support the state government’s drive towards preventing the pandemic.

Ibe said that the NYSC was keenly observing government’s activities to prevent the disease and decided to contribute its own quota towards the fight.

“We implore that you accept this token of sanitisers towards the fight as we resolve that this is a joint responsibility.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Kenneth Ugbala, while receiving the items, extolled the NYSC for its support to prevent the coronavirus from the state and pledged the state government’s support to the scheme at all times.

“I commend you for ensuring that the intellectual abilities of the corps members are effectively utilised to stem the tide of the global scourge.

“The donation will assist in combating the pandemic which has already claimed many lives in different parts of the world and we will judiciously utilise the items,” he said.

He enjoined the public to cooperate with the government in the fight against the virus by adhering strictly to the regulations it stipulated in the fight against the pandemic.

“The state government’s proactiveness has earned it a high rating in the fight against the virus and has made the state COVID-19 free,” he said.
