NYSC soldier punishes first-class graduate for confronting him over a broken phone

A first-class graduate at the NYSC camp in Adamawa was reportedly punished by a soldier in a motorcycle-riding stance after confronting him over a broken phone, sparking mixed reactions online.

A soldier at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp in Adamawa State reportedly punished a first-class graduate for confronting him after the soldier allegedly broke his phone.

The incident was shared on X by a user, @Nifemi_Bill, who revealed that the corper in question was his friend. According to him, after the soldier accidentally damaged his friend’s phone, the corper demanded an explanation, which led to him being punished in a motorcycle-riding stance.

Sharing a video of the punishment, @Nifemi_Bill wrote:

“One of our guys went to Adamawa for NYSC camp. We couldn’t reach him for days and thought it was network issues. You won’t believe what happened 😭 A soldier mistakenly broke his phone, and he got angry. That’s how they punished a first-class graduate o 😂😂😭💔”

He further added:

“Someone randomly saw this video on TikTok and sent it to us 😂. He’s probably still under punishment till now, who knows? 😂🤷🏽‍♂️”

As the video gained traction, many social media users reacted with mixed emotions. Some condemned the incident, while others found humor in the situation.

Social media reactions:

• @NewGvd: “I swear this is not something to laugh about.”

• @BigDean001: “This is why I memorized my dad’s number. The soldier will hear from him.”

• @percyjay0: “You shouldn’t have posted the video, bro.”

The viral post has sparked conversations about discipline at NYSC camps and the treatment of corps members by military personnel.
