OOU Vice-chancellor Assures Staff, Students Safety During Proposed Nationwide Protests

Olabisi Onabanjo University OOU Vice-chancellor Assures Staff, Students Safety During Proposed Nationwide Protests.

The University Management wishes to inform staff and students that the existing security arrangements on all the campuses of Olabisi Onabanjo University have been adequately strengthened to contain any unforeseen situation that may arise from the proposed nationwide protests.

To this end, more security personnel have been deployed to bolster the conducive and secure campus environment for all members of the University community as well as visitors.

Apart from strict access control measure and enhanced security surveillance on the University Campuses, Management has partnered with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services to ensure safety remains a top priority during and beyond the period of proposed protests.

In light of the above, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ayadeji Agboola, has urged the entire members of the University Community, including staff and students, to remain calm and go about their lawful activities. While appreciating all categories of staff and students for their unwavering support and cooperation so far, especially through the Staff and Students Unions, Prof. Agboola also assured them of adequate safety measures especially during the period of on-going examination.

The Vice-Chancellor acknowledges the sense of dedication and commitment to excellence of the University workforce noting that these were largely responsible for the stable academic calendar enjoyed in the University. He added that their efforts culminated in the reversion of the University Calendar to the traditional season-based calendar, as the 2023/2024 Academic Session ends with the completion of the ongoing Rain Semester Examinations.
