PLASU Clarification on Fee Schedule 2025

PLASU Clarification on Fee Schedule 2025.

The Management of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, wishes to notify the Students that the University has not increased tuition fees for the 2025/2026 academic session as widely purported. Contrary to widespread rumours on social media, tuition fees for all students, both new and returning, have remained at the same rate since 2022. This is in spite of current economic challenges and rising inflation nationwide.

The ongoing confusion stems from a new N5,000.00 ICT charge, which is separate from tuition fees. This charge is essential for providing ICT services for students, including the provision of free internet access across the campus. The charge was duly approved by the University’s Governing Council, with students leadership involved in the process.

Additionally, a N10,000.00 Bench Fee remains a standard practice. The Bench Fee was approved in 2021 as a uniform rate to replace the arbitrary charges previously imposed on students by some departments. Initially, the charges were applicable to only the final-year students in all departments, the university, with council approval, has now extended the N10,000.00 bench fee to all students in twenty (22) additional departments whose curriculum require outdoor academic activities such as field trips, excursions and productions.

Management also wishes to encourage students of the University to take advantage of the Federal Government’s Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to help alleviate any financial burden related to payment of tuition and associated charges.
