Reactions as SUG President of Jigawa Varsity arrives campus with Benz and half a dozen security escorts

The SUG President of Federal University Dutse(FUD) Jigawa State recently issued a resounding statement when he arrived at the school in an administrative style.

The young student appeared on campus in a clean white Mercedes-Benz car, surrounded by nearly six security guards.

In some viral photos shared online, you can see the president of SUG driving his Mercedes-Benz car, while his security guards in suits and ties are jogging beside the car.

He walked into the classroom surrounded by security guards, followed by a few students.

Is it ideal for a student president to move in such a manner?’‘ a student asked.

However, some students of the Federal Varsity Dutse have denied the fact that their SUG went to class with security men.

According to one of them, the pictures were taken during their matriculation ceremony and the men on suit in question are from the department of criminology.

“The SUG-FUD president isn’t going to class with that convoy, those pictures were taken on matriculation day, and the guys in suits are criminology students. Please disregard fake news from some of these news portal/media firms.” he added.

The guy is simply displaying what the society and our “leaders” are made of. Crucify him not if you still support a local government chairman to move with not less than 30 aides and the jamborees that follow. Seriously, it seems things are getting worse daily. We need mental emancipation.

The school management also reacted to the news:

Our attention has been drawn to a post circulating in the social media insinuating that the Students Union President of Federal University Dutse, Comrade Muhammad Mukhtar Umar attends lecture in a convoy with presumed security in tow.

The said pictures were taken when the students of Criminology and Security Studies (CSS) Department had their week and the CSS students put to practice how to protect high profile personality by bringing the SUG president to the occasion in that manner.

It is not possible for that number of students to abandon their lectures just to escort the SUG President to attend a class.

The Federal University Dutse takes the issue of training students both in character and learning seriously and as such will not condone such action in the campus.
