The House of Representatives has approved a bill that would eliminate the long-standing dichotomy between the BSC and the Higher National Diploma in Employment.

The House of Representatives considered the report in the committee of the whole and approved the proposal, awaiting third reading and final approval.
The bill stipulates that any person or institution in this country who violates the law shall be fined 1 million guilders.
For a long time, the dichotomy between Tier 1 and HND has been the focus of national discussions, especially in terms of employment.
The bill will put an end to “all forms of discriminations and or dichotomy between first degree and Higher National Diploma for employment, transfer of service, the conversation of cadre, career progression, promotion and in other related issues in the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy.”
