A student has received over N2M in donations from compassionate Nigerians after being humiliated while attempting to win a N100K giveaway.

A student has received over N2M in donations from compassionate Nigerians after being humiliated while attempting to win a N100K giveaway.

A social media user known as @PINK_THECHILD experienced an unexpected turn of events after reaching out to a giveaway proxy. The proxy, identified as @theugleeone, was tasked with distributing N1.4M among 14 people on the X platform.

“@MLBaloni I don’t even know how to explain myself, sir. My life is currently in jeopardy. 100k would keep myself and my 400-level studies from ruin, sir. I’m helpless, please help me. I’m crying 💔,” @PINK_THECHILD pleaded.

When @PINK_THECHILD was selected as one of the winners, he mistakenly posted his account number under someone else’s tweet, prompting insults from the giveaway proxy.

“You’re a daft person, you just have luck I’m in a good mood. Paste aza under the comment you’re pasting it under someone else’s comment. Is that the person that is giving you money you’re responding to?? 🏌🏿‍♀️,” the proxy wrote.

The unwarranted insult sparked outrage among other users, leading to generous donations from well-meaning Nigerians to the student. Consequently, millions of naira were donated to the student following the incident.
