Tragic Loss: Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Student Dies in Hit-and-Run Incident

Faith Aluku Adeshola, a diploma journalism student at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, tragically died in a hit-and-run accident while on her way to school, prompting calls for improved road safety measures from student leaders.

Faith Aluku Adeshola, a diploma journalism student from the Department of Mass Communication at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, tragically lost her life on Wednesday after being struck by a truck in a hit-and-run accident.

Witnesses report that Faith was en route to school on a motorcycle when a truck collided with them, resulting in her immediate death.

Both the truck driver and the motorcycle rider have since been apprehended and are now in police custody.

Faith’s remains have been taken to the morgue at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital.

At the time of this heartbreaking incident, she was still in the process of completing her registration.

In response to this tragedy, Comrade Haruna Umar, President of the Polytechnic’s Students’ Union Government (SUG), has called for calm among students. He reassured them that the institution’s management, along with law enforcement agencies, are actively working towards achieving justice for Faith.

Umar also urged the Polytechnic’s administration and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to consider installing speed bumps around the campus perimeter to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
