About UI Distance Learning Programme
The University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre (UIDLC) is an arm of the University responsible for providing Open and Distance Learning University Education. This mode of education is technology-mediated and provides for minimum physical interaction between the learners and the facilitators. DLC learners are spread across different locations within and outside the country because of the convenience of access which is made available by this mode.
The University of Ibadan (UI) expands its’ frontiers of qualitative undergraduate programmes through two modes of educational deliveries: the traditional face-to-face mode and the innovative Open and Distance eLearning (ODeL) mode.
The two modes are viable alternatives for pursuing a University of Ibadan degree, hence the entrenchment of the “Parity of Esteem” policy in the University. The policy stipulates that students on the two modes of study have equal rights and privileges in the University.
Specifically, students in both face-to-face and open distance eLearning modes go through the same curriculum, examinations, and course lecturers/facilitators; earn the same prestigious UI certificate and are both eligible for mobilization for NYSC.
In a bid to increase access through the UI ODeL programmes, the general public should be informed that applications for admission will be opened on March 13, 2023, for suitably qualified candidates to the University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.
FYI: UIDLC graduates are eligible for NYSC mobilization
