UNILAG Registration Schedules & Screening Procedure for Fresh Students 2024/2025 [UPDATED]

All newly admitted UTME and DIRECT ENTRY candidates are requested to report for registration in accordance with the Registration Procedures.

LATEST UPDATE: Extension of 2024/2025 Screening Exercise for Freshers

The Screening/Registration Exercise for newly admitted undergraduate students (freshers) in the 2024/2025 academic session has been extended by one (1) week from Monday, 3rd to Friday 7th February, 2025.

The exercise will hold at the Jelili Adebisi Omotola Halls A and B.

All freshers who are yet to present themselves for screening are enjoined to make good use of this opportunity.

LATEST UPDATE: Screening/Registration of Newly Admitted Students (2nd Batch) Rescheduled to Hold in 2 Phases

Due to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) 55th Convocation Ceremonies scheduled for Wednesday, January 8 to Sunday, January 19, 2025, the screening/registration exercise for newly admitted 2024/2025 UTME and Direct Entry candidates (second batch) of the University has been rescheduled to hold in two (2) phases as indicated below:

• Phase 1 ——> Monday, January 6 to Friday, January 10, 2025
• Phase 2 ——> Monday, January 20 to Friday, January 31, 2025

All newly admitted students are enjoined to note these dates and complete their registration accordingly.

In view of this, returning students who have not registered would also have the opportunity to register during this period.

All returning students who are yet to register are advised to do so during this period as there would be NO EXTENSION afterwards.

The required documents and procedure for registration are indicated below:

Registration Schedule/Appointment

Candidates who have been offered admission should click: http://studentportal.unilag.edu.ng/, and follow, step by step, the procedure indicated to book preferred registration date. Thereafter: 

1. Log in with JAMB Number/Application Number as Username and Surname in lower case as Password
2. Upon log in, you will be required to change password from the default (surname) used
3. On the student’s portal, click on “Appointment” under the menu bar, by the left-hand side,
4. Click on “New Appointment”
5. Select the Appointment applicable to your Faculty
6. Select the date for your appointment
7. Select the session
8. Click on Schedule appointment

You will get a message on your portal thereafter, indicating “successful.” Print your appointment/booking slip from your portal and present it at the screening/registration venue.

Please note that it is compulsory for all candidates to present their appointment/booking slip at the screening/registration venue.

• Stage 1: Uploading of Documents
• With UTME Number as Username and Surname in lower case as Password, log in the UNILAG Student Portal via www.unilag.edu.ng, then Click ADMISSIONS, Admissions  and  2024/2025 SCREENING.
• Fill the bio-data form and print the Screening Form.
• candidates are expected to upload the under listed documents (original) while filling the bio-data form:
  • Birth Certificate
  • Letter of Reference from a reputable Clergyman/Imam/Lawyer/Senior Civil Servant, addressed to The Registrar, University of Lagos
  • Testimonial from Secondary School attended
  • State of Origin Certificate
  • JAMB Admission Letter
  • O’Level Result
  • Previous Degree Certificate (for DIRECT Entry candidates only)
• Stage 2: Screening

A.Proceed to the registration venue as scheduled.

B. Submit two copies (Coloured and photocopy) of the under listed documents to the registration officer:

1. Screening Form generated from stage 1
2. UNILAG Online Application Form (for Direct Entry candidates only)
3. JAMB Acknowledgement Slip (for Direct Entry candidates only)
4. JAMB Admission Letter (Institution Copy)
5. UTME Result Slip (Not Applicable to Direct Entry candidates)
6. Post-UTME Result Slip (Not Applicable to 2024 JAMB candidates)
7. JUPEB/A-LEVEL/OND/HND/BSc. Result Slip (for Direct Entry candidates only)
8. O’Level Result Certificate (WAEC/NECO). Online version will only be accepted from the 2024 WAEC/NECO/GCE Results holders. STATEMENT OF RESULT FROM SECONDARY SCHOOL IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
9. Letter of Reference (original copy) from a reputable Clergyman/Imam/Lawyer/Senior Civil Servant (on Letterhead, indicate status in Office, Lawyers to use the Valid NBA Seal [NOT THE RED SEAL]), addressed to The Registrar, University of Lagos.

• Birth Certificate (Photocopies)
• Testimonial from Secondary School attended (Photocopies)
• State of Origin Certificate (Photocopies). Note: This must be the same state you registered with JAMB
• Passport Photographs (12 Copies: full names should be written on the reverse side)

Please note that all candidates are to present the original copies of all credentials (birth certificate/sworn affidavit, testimonial, state of origin and WAEC certificate) for sighting.

• Stage 3: Payment of Fees

A. Generate Payment Advice 24 hours after Stage 2 process

B. Proceed to any bank to make payment

• Stage 4: Faculty/Departmental Registration

Proceed to your Faculty and Department for further registration processes

• Important Notice
• Impersonation is a serious offence, therefore anyone found guilty of this, will automatically forfeit his/her admission and may be handed over to the Police.
• DRUG USE:  The University has zero tolerance for drug use; hence, a compulsory test shall be conducted for all newly admitted students ONCE. This could either be before or after registration. The admission of newly admitted students who test POSITIVE TO DRUG USE, as well as those who fail to undergo the test shall be WITHDRAWN.
• The dates for the Orientation Programme and Matriculation Ceremony are as announced by the University.
