Four UNILAG students have been selected for the Erasmus KA171+ Exchange Program in Poland, where they will gain international exposure, enhance their academic knowledge, and develop global networks, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola congratulating them on their achievement.

Four students from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have been selected to participate in the Erasmus KA171+ Exchange Program at the University of Szczecin, Poland. The program is scheduled to run from March 1st to July 14th, 2025, as part of the 2024/2025 academic session. The selected students are Priscilla Oboh (Mass Communication, 400 level), Olawale Fathiah (Human Kinetics and Health Education, 300 level), Luqman Yusuff (Economics, 400 level), and Ugochukwu Francis (Law, 300 level).
The students expressed excitement about the opportunity, emphasizing their desire to gain international exposure, experience life outside Africa, and build global networks. Oboh highlighted her motivation, stating, “I have always seen myself as a global citizen, somebody who is not bound to just the borders of Nigeria and Africa alone.” The exchange program, they believe, will offer them a fresh perspective on their studies and personal growth.
The selection process involved three key stages: application, shortlisting, and interviews. Fathiah described the interview process as “nerve-wracking,” while Ugochukwu shared that he spent several nights preparing answers to potential questions to ensure he was well-prepared. Their success in the rigorous selection process reflects their dedication and commitment to academic excellence.
To prepare for their time in Poland, the students have been learning about Polish customs and language, as well as connecting with international peers. Academically, they have reviewed course materials and are eager to gain new insights from the European education system. They believe this exposure will enhance their knowledge, broaden their perspectives, and help them develop valuable skills.
Encouraging other students to apply for similar opportunities, the selected participants advised them to prepare early, seek guidance from experienced mentors, and not let fear hold them back. Vice-Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola congratulated the students on their achievement, commending their dedication and wishing them success in their academic journey abroad.
