University of Uyo, Final-Year Certificate Screening Exercise 2024/2025 Academic Session.

The Directorate of Academic Affairs (Records Unit) at the University of Uyo has proposed the commencement of the screening and certificate verification exercise for 2024/2025 final-year students.
According to an internal memorandum issued by the Head of the Records Unit, the exercise is scheduled to run from Monday, April 7, 2026, to Tuesday, July 7, 2026, spanning a total of 63 days. About 12,948 final-year and spillover students are expected to participate.
The directive applies to all final-year students, including those who completed their programmes before the 2024/2025 session but were not previously screened.
Students are required to present original copies and photocopies of key documents, including:
- certificates submitted at admission
- birth certificates or age declarations
- admission letters
- school fee receipts
- course registration forms
- a recent passport photograph
The memorandum emphasized that participation in the screening is mandatory, noting that failure to comply will prevent affected students from collecting their Notification of Results or National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) call-up letters.
Students are advised to adhere strictly to the screening schedule for their respective faculties and departments. Those who miss the exercise will have to wait until the next screening cycle in the 2025/2026 academic session.
Additionally, the memo clarified that only original certificates issued by examination bodies such as West African Examinations Council and National Examinations Council will be accepted, as statements of results or online printouts will not be considered valid.
Faculty officers have also been instructed to submit students’ lists in both hard and soft copies, while ensuring that students’ names are written in full without abbreviations.
The university urged faculties and departments to widely publicize the screening schedule to ensure full compliance among students.
