Ebiomofari Omowumi Janet, a resilient Nigerian student, overcame a rough start at the University of Ilorin, raising her GPA from 1.59 in her first year to a perfect 5.00, earning a first-class degree in Agricultural Science.
In a Twitter post, Janet shared how she struggled academically, starting with a 1.3 GPA in her first semester after failing two courses, while also facing financial difficulties, health challenges, and depression.
Motivated by these setbacks, she resolved to pursue excellence, and by her third year, she achieved straight A’s, crediting her success to hard work, discipline, determination, faith in God, and consistent effort.
Janet described her academic journey as both a personal and spiritual battle, using scripture for strength and encouraging others to stay focused, seek God’s guidance, and recognize that failure is part of the path to success.
