Master Shalom Adesina, the top student in the 2023 May/June West African Examination Council (WAEC), has been honored with a N1 million cash award from Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq.
The award was presented on Wednesday, August 7, at the Ministry of Education’s conference hall in Ilorin.
Adesina, a student of Rehoboth College, Pipeline, achieved distinctions in all his WAEC subjects, earning him this prestigious recognition.
Governor AbdulRazaq stated that the initiative aims to support and inspire exceptional students like Adesina, commending his outstanding performance and expressing hope that the financial gift will further enhance his academic journey.
The news was announced by Peter Amogbonjaye, Press Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, on the Kwara State Ministry of Communications’ X handle on August 8.
