Anchor University, Ayobo Lagos, will hold its maiden convocation on Friday with twenty-three of the graduands coming out with First Class degrees.

Announcing this during a press conference on Thursday, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Afolayan, disclosed that the overall best graduand, Mary Enakireru, scored a cumulative CPGA of 3.95/4.00.
He also said that out of the 63 graduands, 27 had Second Class Upper, while the remaining 13 graduated with Second Class Lower degrees.
Giving more detail, Prof. Afolayan stated that nine of the graduands came from the Faculty of Humanities, 27 from Social Management Sciences, while 27 emerged from Science and Science Education.
Afolayan recalled the passion of the University’s Chancellor, Pastor William Kumuyi, for the development of the youths, adding that his vision had birthed several projects and programmes aimed at transforming youths and making them disciplined young adults.
“This vision and passion have continued to be the basis upon which Anchor University’s training is driven,” he stressed.
He maintained that the graduands were coming out with a difference, stressing, “At Anchor University, you are not expected to find a graduate who is incapable of defending the result approved by the university’s Senate.”
Other activities of the four-day programme, according to him, included s Convocation Lecture by Prof. A. Okebukola also on Thursday while the convocation proper was scheduled on Friday.
He said the University Community would be hosted to a special convocation service at the Deeper Life Bible Church Headquarters, Gbagada, Lagos.
