The Kano State indigene who graduated with CGPA 9.89 out of 10.00 in India, had studied Mechatronics Engineering at Bayero University Kano (BUK), during his undergraduate studies where he received the 2019 Ahmadu Adamu Muazu prize for the best student with CGPA 4.9 in the Faculty of Engineering.

Explaining how how he was able to achieve this feat, Nafiu Abubakar said all credits go to his mentors who motivated and guided him to reach the summit.

“Well, there is nothing much to say on how I emerged as the best student, it is Allah’s will.

“But I know that I concentrate fully in all of my academic classes, as well as laboratories,” he said.

He further explained that most of his leisure time was used for assignments and researches as he is highly interested in Automation and Robotics Engineering.

Nafi’u also pointed out that one of the serious challenges he faced during his undergraduate studies (in Nigeria) was difficulty in accessing research in his field of study because it was a brand new programme then.
